The Neece Funeral Home in Waverly was founded in the early 1900's, by W. H. Neece. He operated locations in both Waverly and Franklin, Illinois. The business continued under the direction of his son. Wm. H Neece, Jr., and his wife, Betty. In 1975, the Neeces purchased Stults Funeral Home in Palmyra. The Neece Family sold its funeral homes to Airsman-Hires in 1980.
Randy graduated from Carrollton High School with the Class of 1981. After earning his degree in Photographic Technology from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, Randy spent several years living and working in Texas. He decided his work in Texas wasn't fulfilling, and returned to Carrollton, where his father, Jess Hires, told him he could work around the funeral home until he figured out what it was he wanted to do with his life. Two years later Randy earned his Funeral Director's license from SIU-C and has never looked back.
Randy spent 25 years serving the communities of Pittsfield and Griggsville. In 2011, Randy moved east to serve the families of Waverly, Palmyra, and the surrounding communities. Randy is involved in the Masonic Lodge, volunteers with the Waverly and Franklin Lions Clubs, and enjoyes electronics, motorcycles, music, and hockey. He is an accomplished drummer.
