Obituary of Ina Moore

Ina “Marcel” Moore, 77, of Perry passed away on Thursday, October 27th in Pittsfield,Il. She was born March 13, 1939 in Griggsville to Clyde V. and Esther Louise Easley Conrad. She married Ray Moore on May 8, 1971 in Griggsville.

Marcel is survived by her children Veda (Rob) Powers of Griggsville, Sheila (Mike) Vose of Perry, and Connie (Alvin) Boone of Plainville. Also surviving are grandchildren Bailey Powers, Jessica (Wayne) Strang, McKenzie Vose, Megan Boone, and Derek Boone; sister-in-law Sharon Conrad of Pittsfield, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and 16 brothers and sisters.

The Perry community was Marcel’s home for most of her life. She worked at Norma’s Café, Brown Shoe Factory, Capitol Records, Griggsville Estates, Community Care Systems, as well as owned and operated “Granny’s Fixins”. In addition to working her entire life, she was a volunteer. She was on the Perry Pioneer Days Committee, Coached Perry girls summer softball league, was a Girl Scout Leader, and was actively involved in the Perry Athletic and Music Boosters. She attended Griggsville schools and later received her GED. Her greatest pride and joy were her grandchildren and attending all of their activities. Marcel enjoyed tending to her flower gardens and helping others.

Funeral Services will be held at 3pm on Sunday, October 30th, at the Airsman-Hires Funeral Chapel in Griggsville. Burial will follow in the Wilson Cemetery in Perry. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 1-3 pm at the Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association or the Wilson/McCord Cemetery Association.
