Obituary of James Burnett

James M. Burnett, age 57, of Waverly, Il. died Saturday morning (December 31, 2016) at Aperion Care in Jacksonville, Il.

He was born December 26, 1959 in Jacksonville, Il. son of Frank E. “Blockie” and Helen J. Wood Burnett.

Surviving is his mother Helen J. Burnett of Waverly, Il.; Bonnie J. Lovekamp (husband Allen) of Waverly, Il., Barbara Hale (husband Don) of Springfield, Il., William “Bud” Burnett (wife Wanda) of Waverly, Il., Charles M. Burnett of Waverly, Il., Edward Burnett (Kathy) of Franklin, Il., Tamara Chrisler (husband John) of Auburn, Il.; and several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Jim was a 1978 graduate of Waverly High School. After high school he was a welder, in Clinton, Il. before working in Texas. Returning from Texas he worked laying field tile. He was a member of Waverly First United Methodist Church. He loved collecting Indian artifacts and enjoyed fishing. He was an avid Cardinal fan.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday (January 4, 2017) at Neece-Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in Waverly, Il. Burial will be in Waverly East Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services Wednesday at the funeral home.
