Obituary of Larry Miner

Larry Russell Miner, age 66, of Waverly, Il. died early Thursday morning (January 12, 2017) at Prairie Village in Jacksonville, Il.

He was born October 5, 1950 in Jacksonville, Il. son of the late Theodore “Bud” and Irene Draughan Miner.

He married Brenda Sitton on October 26, 1974 in Waverly, Il. and she survives.

Also surviving are two sisters, Carolyn Fuchs (Ron) of Franklin, Il. and Cathy Griffith (Jim) of Jacksonville, Il.; also surviving are several nieces and nephews including Monica L. Davis of Winchester, Il. and Morgan Piper of Waverly, Il. who were raised in their home.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Larry was a graduate of Waverly High School and was an Army veteran serving during Vietnam in Germany.

He was a past employee of Capital Records and Nestle/Carnation in Jacksonville, Il. for many years.

Larry loved watching movies and listening to music. He was an avid fan of Fighting Illini basketball and the St. Louis Cardinals.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Monday (January 16, 2017) at Neece-Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in Waverly, Il. Burial will be in Waverly East Cemetery where graveside military rites will be conducted by Waverly American Legion Post. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services Monday at the funeral home. Family requests in lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Waverly Rescue Squad or Waverly East Cemetery.
