Obituary of Janice Pohlman

Janice Marie Pohlman, 69, of Carrollton passed away at her residence surrounded by her family on Jan. 12, 2017.

She was born in Vincennes, IN to Guy and Virginia (Woolsey) Brackin.

Jan is survived by her husband of 47 years, Dave, her children: Janetta Pohlman, Jacqueline (Mike) Madison, Justin (Mandy) Pohlman, Johanna (Joe) Horabik, grandchildren: Joel (Cheyanne), Sydney, Margaret, Grant, Sophia, Olivia, Hadley, Paxton, and great-grandchild: Gaia, sisters: Judy Bymaster, Joyce Trisler, Janie Ross, Jeanne Brackin, all of Indianapolis, IN, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Janna, her parents and a sister Patty.

Jan was a member of St. John’s Church and retired from the United States Post Office after 30 years of service.

Over the years, Jan volunteered with several organizations including CHS Booster Club, Catholic Daughters and the Girl Scouts of America. She enjoyed playing cards, the Indianapolis 500, and looked forward to donating her time, efforts and creativity to friends and families special occasions and most of all watching her children and grandchildren’s athletic events. She will be terribly missed by all who knew her.

In lieu of flowers donations are requested to St. John’s School of Carrollton.

Visitation will be from 9-11 a.m. on Tuesday Jan. 17, 2017 at the Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in Carrollton. Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 that morning at St. John’s Catholic Church in Carrollton with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Condolences may be left online at: www.airsman-hires.com.
