Obituary of Betty Woolsey

Betty L. Woolsey, 88, of Carrollton died on Sunday evening Jan. 15, 2017 at Jerseyville Manor Nursing Home.

Born near Wrights, IL on Oct. 28, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Emery and Mildred (Reno) Turner. She married Leacqo Woolsey on April 3, 1948 in Kane and he preceded her in death on April 1, 2002. Surviving are her sons and daughters-in-law: Jim and Judy Woolsey, Bob and Debbie Woolsey and Dennis and Dianna Woolsey all of Jerseyville, 9 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and a sister Loula Bell Stalcup of Naperville. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a grandchild Toby Woolsey, 3 brothers: Alfred “Bud” Turner, Gilbert “Gib” Turner, and infant Rupert Turner, and 2 sisters: Alberta “Bertie” Landreth and Hazel Byland.

Betty was a loving farm wife and member of Kane Baptist Church. She loved gardening and yardwork.

Visitation will be from 4-7 P.M. on Thursday Jan. 19 at the Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in Carrollton. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 10:30 a.m. at the Kane Baptist Church in Kane with burial in the Kane Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Blessing Hospice or Kane Baptist Church.
