Obituary of Sharon Howe

Sharon L. Howe, 76, of Winchester died on Friday Jan. 20, 2017 at Scott County Nursing Home in Winchester.

Born in Springfield on Jan. 18, 1941, she was the daughter of the late James and Lucille (Dodd) Roberts. She married Charles Howe on Nov. 3, 1959 and he survives. Also surviving are 2 daughters: Brenda (companion Jim Grissom) Stone of Winchester, Shari Morris of White Hall, a son: James (Simona) Howe of Roodhouse, 16 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, 3 sisters: Patricia Keykendall of St. Augustine, FL, Marilyn (Frank) Houston of Springfield, Joyce (Jim) Barbou of Colorado Springs, CO, and a brother-in-law: Bob Kunz of St. Augustine, FL. Many nieces and nephews also survive.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Donna Kunz, a sister Linda and brother-in-law: Don Richardson.

She had worked at International Shoe Company in Springfield and later put in 32 years in the Willard Ice Building in Springfield for the State of Illinois. She was a bowling league member, loved reading and spending time at Lake Jacksonville. Her real love in life was caring for children. She will be sadly missed.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sat. Jan. 28 starting at 2 P.M. at the Nimrod/Funk Building in Winchester. Memorial Donations may be made to Scott County Nursing Home or the Winchester EMS. Condolences may be left online at: www.airsman-hires.com.
