Obituary of Beverly Green

Beverly Jo Green, 61, of Jacksonville, died Thursday, February 2, 2017, at her residence. She was born October 13, 1955, in Wurzburg, Germany, the daughter of John and Norma J. Sperry Green.

Beverly is survived by her father, John Green of Jacksonville, one sister, Michele (Mark) Quinlan of Jacksonville, one brother, John (Susan) Green of South Jacksonville, nieces and nephews Heidi (Adam) Potter of Jacksonville, Morgan Green, Ryan Green, and Brooklynn Johnson, all of South Jacksonville, and Chaddam Johnson of Virginia, and her great-nephew and great-niece, A.J. and Abby Potter, both of Jacksonville. Beverly was preceded in death by her mother, Norma J. Green.

Beverly was a graduate of Baptist Bible College in Springfield, Missouri and taught kindergarten for one year in Mishawaka, Indiana. Beverly returned to Jacksonville in 1980 and began teaching at Westfair Christian Academy, where she has continued to teach for nearly 37 years. In addition to teaching, Beverly has worked in the Westfair Daycare program and worked weekends at Subway. She was a lifelong member of Westfair Baptist Church and a faithful member of the choir.

Beverly was an avid reader and will be remembered for her big heart and caring ways. Beverly considered the Westfair church and school to be part of her extended family, and her contentment in life was demonstrative of her strong Christian faith.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, February 6, 2017, at Westfair Baptist Church in Jacksonville, with burial at Diamond Grove Cemetery in Jacksonville. The family will meet friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Williamson Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to the family. Condolences may be left online at www.airsman-hires.com.
