Obituary of Richard Rigg II
Richard Dawdy Rigg II,age 69 of White Hall, and formerly of Jacksonville, died Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at Des Peres Hospital in St. Louis. He was born June 8, 1947 in Burbank, CA , the son of Richard and Katherine Amanda Greenleaf Rigg.
Richard is survived by a niece Katherine A. Kallupurackal (husband Sandeep) , a nephew Richard D. Rigg III, and a great nephew Miguel R. Sanchez-Rigg, Jr., all of Bloomington. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty A. Rigg in infancy, and Tina S. Rigg Nessler in 1995, and an uncle and aunt, Bernard and Ruby Rigg Bowman.
Richard graduated from high school in California and worked for the CNA and Southern Pacific Railroads for a number of years and later was a truck driver for an auto parts distributer. He enjoyed reading, computers, and c.b. radios, and deep sea fishing. He also was a collector of sports memorabilia. He had resided in the Beecher High Rise in Jacksonville for 18 years.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 1, at Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in White Hall, with burial in White Hall Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital. Condolences will be left on-line at www.airsman-hires.com.
