Obituary of Patrick Rusten

Patrick L. “Pat” Rusten, age 54 of Roodhouse died March 22, 2017 at his residence. He was born November 25, 1962 in Jacksonville, the son of James D. and Judith E. Powell Rusten. He married Hannah B. Custer April 7, 1990 in White Hall and she survives.

Also surviving is his mother, Judith Rusten of Roodhouse, a daughter, Taylor (Jacob) Armold of Greenfield, a son Reed (Morgan Stein) Rusten of Roodhouse, a granddaughter, Isabelle Armold of Greenfield, and one sister, Hallie (Jack) Fry of Pittsfield. He was preceded in death by his father.

After graduating from high school Pat attended Kentucky Technical School where he learned the trade of rebuilding starters and alternators. Pat owned and operated Rusten Rebuilders in Roodhouse since 1993. He loved farming with his father on the family farm, collecting a variety of things including Minneapolis Moline tractors, watching the St. Louis Cardinal’s, and he pulled antique Minneapolis Moline tractors in the ITPA for many years. Most of all he loved his family, which also included watching his children’s sporting events, and snuggling his baby granddaughter Isabelle.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 27, 2017 at Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in White Hall with burial to follow in Fernwood Cemetery in Roodhouse.
