Obituary of Julia Sellars
Julia E. Sellars, 101 of Winchester passed away Tuesday evening March 28, 2017 at the Jacksonville Skilled Nursing and Rehab Center. She was born September 2, 1915 in Greene County the daughter of the late O.E. and Minnie Bishop Steelman.
She married Ralph D. Sellars January 1, 1936 in Jacksonville.
Julia was a 1934 graduate of Winchester High School. She was a homemaker and worked several years as the secretary for the Alsey and Manchester schools. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Winchester. She was an accomplished artist, and enjoyed flower gardening. She loved her family.
Surviving are her children Robert (Carol) Sellars, Jeannie (Bob) Mueller both of Winchester, Linda (Mick) McGlasson of Springfield. Nine grandchildren Callie (Mark) Reichart, Robert T. (Julie) Sellars, Andy (Jennifer) Sellars, Steve (Barb) Mueller all of Winchester, Julie (Lewis) Camerer of Jacksonville, Brian (Bridget) Mueller of Roodhouse, Wesley (Rhonda) Hudson of Houston, TX, Meggan McGlasson of St. Louis, MO, Marcus (Lauryn) McGlasson of Pleasant Plains, 16 great grandchildren and 9 great great grandchildren. Preceding her in death was her husband in 1995 and her three brothers Leslie, Everett, and Raymond Steelman.
Funeral services will be held at 10 Saturday April 1, 2017 at the First Baptist Church in Winchester. Burial will be in the Winchester City Cemetery. Friends may call after 5 pm Friday at the Coonrod Funeral Home in Winchester where the family will meet with friends from 6 until 8 pm. Memorials can be made to the Winchester EMS or the First Baptist Church.
