Obituary of Michael McGrath
Michael Kevin McGrath, 54 of Winchester passed away Tuesday night April 4, 2017 at his home.
He was born January 20, 1963 in Jacksonville the son of Paul and Loretta Hohl McGrath.
Mike was a 1981 graduate of Jacksonville High School, and John Wood Community College. He worked as a farm manager for the Hanor Company for over 20 years. He had previously worked as an EMT in Morgan County. Mike was a member of St. Mark’s Church in Winchester and the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed rebuilding and showing cars and was particularly proud of his Camaro.
Surviving is his mother Loretta in Winchester, five sisters Marian (Delbert) Fraley of Kampsville, Theresa (Hunter) Sauer of Winchester, Emily (Steve) Goodrich of Grants, NM, Regina (Tom) McLaughlin of Springfield, Lesa (Clyde) VanHyning of Jacksonville, three brothers Joseph (Carol) McGrath of Virden, Andrew (Terressa) McGrath and Steven (Lynn) McGrath both of Springfield and many nieces and nephews.
A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am Monday April 10, 2017 at St. Mark’s Church in Winchester. Burial will be in the St. Mark’s Cemetery.
Memorials can be made to the St. Mark’s Cemetery or the Scott County Dog Rescue.
