Obituary of David Berry

David L. Berry, 70, of Arenzville passed away Saturday, April 15, 2017 at Passavant Area Hospital. He was born February 18, 1947 near Chapin the son of Jesse V. and Lena Irene Draper Berry. He married Jenelyn Germo and she survives.

He is also survived by four sons, Michael (Denise) Berry of Woodson, Jeff (Jennifer) Berry of Springfield, Douglas Berry California, and Troy Berry of Springfield; 4 grandchildren; one brother, Jesse M. (JoAnn) Berry of rural Jacksonville; one sister, Nannie Hall of Kansas City and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one son, Jesse Lee Berry and one brother, James Berry (surviving wife, Berneta of Concord).

David served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and was employed by Burlington Northern Railroad as a Foreman for many years. He was a gun enthusiast and will be remembered for his sense of humor. He enjoyed spending time with his boys and his brother, hunting, fishing and NASCAR.

A funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 20, 2017 at Williamson Funeral Home. The family will meet friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. A committal service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 21, 2017 at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield. Memorials are suggested to the family or the VA.
