Obituary of Shirley Miller-Williams

 

            Shirley F. Miller-Williams, 65, of Jacksonville, died Saturday, May 13, 2017, at her granddaughter’s home in Arenzville.  She was born February 1, 1952, in Kentucky, the daughter of Joseph Finley and Margaret May Chaney Miller.  Shirley married Sherman Dale Williams and he survives.

            Shirley is also survived by one son, Roger (Darla) Miller of Sanford, Florida, one granddaughter, Ashlen Miller of Arenzville, three great-grandchildren, Anistyn, Haevynn, and Ryder, her mother, Margaret Miller of Jacksonville, her daughter by fate, Lou (Tim) Plowman of Concord, and her granddaughter Kaitlynn, and three brothers, Fred (Pearl) Miller of Michigan, and James (Phyllis) Miller and John (Robin) Miller, both of Jacksonville.  Shirley was preceded in death by her father and one brother, Jerry Miller.

            Shirley worked at Capitol Records in Jacksonville for many years and more recently served as a caregiver to her granddaughter and her children.  She enjoyed fishing, visiting casinos, doing ancestry research, and watching birds, especially hummingbirds.  Shirley spent time tinkering around the house and loved working on her Wheel Horse lawn mowers.

            A time of sharing will be held at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, May 17, 2017, at Williamson Funeral Home, where the family will meet friends one hour prior.  Burial will be private.  Memorials are suggested to the Illinois Conservation Foundation.  Condolences may be left online at www.airsman-hires.com.
