Obituary of Nellie Kunzeman
Nellie J. Kunzeman, 86, of Jacksonville died on Monday afternoon June 5, 2017 at Jacksonville Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Jacksonville.
Born in Virginia, IL on Oct. 24, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Leslie and Nellie (Harding) Shafer. She married Dale M. Kunzeman on Aug. 1, 1954 and he preceded her in death on Jan. 31, 1994. Surviving are her children: Barbara (Rod) Nicholson of Jacksonville, Bonna Kunzeman of Lake Mary, FL, Bryon (Dana) Kunzeman of Deltona, FL, Ardell (companion Alina Beach) Kunzeman of Deltona, FL, Weldon (Christina) Kunzeman of Juneau, WI, Annette (Joseph) Kunzeman-Watkins of Auburn, Janette (Greg) Sparks of Deltona, FL, 11 grandchildren:Luke Nicholson, Isaac Nicholson, Valerie Nicholson, Dale Cowick, Colton Kunzeman, Derrick Bertman, Cale Kunzeman, Kendra Kunzeman, Kayla Garber, Kalib Grissom, Kimberly Grissom, and 8 great grandchildren:Grace Nicholson, Drake Nicholson, Tyson Nicholson, Tia Jackson, Bodie Jackson, Nora Jackson, Jace Colon, Addison Colon, 2 sisters: Mary Smith of Winchester, Leona Meyers of White Hall and a brother : Bobby (Vera) Shafer of Winchester. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 6 siblings: Lucille Ford, Lillian Hamilton, Sterling, Jim, Ralph and Joyce Shafer.
Nellie was a longtime LPN and worked many years at Boyd Memorial Hospital and later as a Home Health Aid. She was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Carrollton.
Visitation will be from 5-8 P.M. on Thursday June 8, 2017 at the Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in Carrollton. Funeral services will be held on Friday June 9, 2017 at 10 A.M. at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Carrollton with burial to follow at Eldred Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
