Obituary of Chester Lockhart

Chester Lee “Chug” Lockhart, age 73 of White Hall died early Thursday, June 22, 2017 at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born May 7, 1944 in Roodhouse, the son of William and Mildred Hill Lockhart. He married Sandy Neff on May 7, 1981 in White Hall and she survives.

Also surviving are his children, Dawn Lockhart of White Hall, William (Natasha) Lockhart of Roodhouse, Tyler (Rachel) Lockhart of White Hall, ten grandchildren, Blayne Nunes, Maesun Kholian, Garrett, Aiden, Nicholas, Alyssa, Justin, and Michael Lockhart, Jeremy and Jared Johnson, two step children, Chuck and Bruce Benson. Other surviving Children are Chester Lockhart Jr. and Mickey Smith. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Donald and James Lockhart.

Chug was a truck driver in the area for many years. He was also a bus driver for the North Greene School District and worked for Brown’s Trucking until his retirement. He was a member of the White Hall Drag o Way and White Hall Sportsman Club. He enjoyed working on his old car, vacationing with friends, fishing, hunting and sports. Most of all he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 24, 2017 at Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in White Hall with burial to follow in White Hall Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:00-2:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family. Condolences may be left online at www.airsman-hires.com
