Obituary of Deborah Juhl

Deborah June Whisnant Juhl was born in Springfield, Illinois on June 13, 1952. She is the fifth child of Roland David Whisnant and Hazel Marie Marcussen Whisnant, of Ashland, Illinois.

She graduated from Ashland Community School 1970 and attended Lincoln Land Community College. 

She married Thomas Elmer Juhl, on November 30, 1974. To this union two children were born: Thomas Eric Juhl and Thomas Eron Juhl. She was a devout Christian and member of Eldred Baptist Church, Eldred, Illinois. Deborah was a stay-at-home mom who loved taking care of her family. She loved her family and delighted in her five adorable, lovable, precious grandchildren. 

She went home to be with her Lord Jesus Christ, after a four-and-one-half year battle of kidney cancer on Saturday, June 24, 2017, at Memorial Medical Center, Springfield, Illinois. 

She is preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Keith and Kermit, and Krane Whisnant, and brother-in-law, Vernon Wayne Whetstone.  Her in-laws, Russell and Elizabeth Juhl.

She is survived by her husband, Tom of 42 years; son, Thomas Eric, and wife, Bobbi Jo Schnelten, of Carrollton, Illinois; son, Thomas Eron, and wife, Shelly Joan Carmody, of Eldred, Illinois; brother, Marcus David Whisnant, and wife, Shirley, of St. Charles, Illinois; sister, Janice Elaine Whisnant Whetstone, of Arvada, Colorado; sister, Heidi Yvonne Whisnant Coy, and husband, Dave, of Springfield, Illinois; five grandchildren: Casyn Thomas Juhl and Easton Robert Juhl, of Eldred, Illinois; Caleb Thomas Juhl, of Carrollton, Illinois; Maddi Jo and Cash James Brannan, of Carrollton, Illinois and many nieces and nephews. Brother-in-law Bob and Tracy Juhl, of Eldred Illinois and sister-in-law Kay and Kenny Albrecht of Greenfield, Illinois. 

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at Eldred Baptist Church with burial to follow in Eldred Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
