Obituary of Anna Jennings

 

       Anna M. Jennings, 84, of Bloomington (formerly of Hillview) died on Friday August 25, 2017 at Advocate BroMenn Medical Center in Normal, IL.

     Born in Cora, IL on Oct. 30, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Andrew Charles Choate and the late Effie Grace Nance Choate.   She married Donald David “Shuttles” Jennings on March 2, 1951 in Bloomington, IL and he preceded her in death on July 7, 2010.

    Surviving are two daughters: Suesan (Tom ) Blan of Bloomington, IL, Pamela (Peter) Petsos of Minier, IL,  a son-in-law: Terry Housman of Hillview, two special nephews: Andy and Danny Ditchen,  and 14 grandchildren.   She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 4 sisters: Clarice Moore, Esther Wilkens, Evalyn Guthrie, Thelma Bobbet, and 5 brothers: Merle, Alvin, William, Clarence and Donald Choate.

     Anna was raised in the Soldiers and Sailors Home in Normal, IL (where she met her future husband).  She had worked at BroMenn Hospital and Americana Nursing Home in Bloomington.  Anna was a waitress at Zorba’s Restaurant in Bloomington for a number of years.  She enjoyed walking and loved to read.

      Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday August 29, 2017 at the Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in White Hall.  Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday August 30, 2017 at 10 a.m. with burial to follow in Eldred Memorial Gardens Cemetery near Eldred, IL.  Condolences may be left online at:  www.airsman-hires.com.
