Obituary of Mabel Driver
Mabel E. Driver, 89, of Carrollton, died Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at White Hall Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. She was born July 29, 1928 in Woodville Township, the daughter of Fred and Edna Brandt Lorton. She married Charles “Shorty” Driver December 20, 1947 in Greene County, and he preceded her in death July 28, 1988.
She is survived by a son, Ken Driver of Carrollton, grandchildren Charlie, Shane, Kathy, and Jasen Driver, and Jessica Monroe and seven great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Kelly Driver, and Dorothy Driver, who was like a sister.
Mabel was a very active, lifetime member of Mt. Gilead Baptist Church near Carrollton. She drove a school bus for the Carrollton School District for over 25 years. She was a member of the Mt. Gilead Community Club, and the Carrollton Sewing Club, and enjoyed playing Euchre , Pinnacle, and Bingo. She also loved to travel.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 9, 2017 at Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in Carrollton, with burial in Carrollton City Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until time of services Saturday. Memorials are suggested to Mt. Gilead Church. Condolences may be left online at www.airsman-hires.com.
