Obituary of Mary Shive

Mary Mae Shive, age 92 of White Hall died Thursday, December 28, 2017 at White Hall Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born January 17, 1925 in White Hall, the daughter of Paul and Edna Ruyle Cox. She married Henry Joe Shive in July 19, 1969 in Carrollton and he survives.

Also surviving is three daughters, JoAnn (Charles) Lakin of White Hall, Nancy (Tony) Crain of New Berlin, Connie (Jim) Haverfield of Manchester, two sons, Jerry (Cindy) Shive and Steve (Nancy) Shive both of Roodhouse, fifteen grandchildren, twenty- seven great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Margaret and Shirley Cox, and a brother, Paul Cox Jr.

Mary Mae worked for Searches IGA in White Hall for 44 years retiring in 1987. She enjoyed sitting on the front porch with Joe enjoying the outdoors, going to the Barefoot to eat, traveling, cooking, and gardening, but most of she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in White Hall.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in White Hall with burial to follow in Pine Tree Cemetery in Patterson. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to White Hall Nursing and Rehabilitation Center or Pine Tree Cemetery.
