Obituary of Martha Knapp
Martha C. Knapp, 95, of Jacksonville, died Wednesday, December 27, 2017, in Jacksonville. She was born October 15, 1922, in Jacksonville, the daughter of Albert E. and Lucille Jackson Curry. She married Arvell F. Knapp on November 21, 1942, in Fresno, California, and he preceded her in death on February 3, 2005.
Mrs. Knapp is survived by one son, James Byron (wife, Carol) Knapp of Springfield, two grandchildren, James Stewart (wife, Mee Yung) Knapp of Frisco, Texas and Brandy Sue (husband, Bryan) Ovenell of Manor, Texas, and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one sister, Jacqueline M. Cully.
Mrs. Knapp graduated from Jacksonville High School and Stephen’s College in Columbia, Missouri. She supported her husband in the operation of their family farm at Pisgah. She was a longtime member of the Jacksonville Country Club and was known for her outgoing personality and wide circle of friends.
A private graveside service will be held with burial at Union Baptist Cemetery near Pisgah. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to PAWS. The Williamson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Condolences may be left online at www.airsman-hires.com.
