Obituary of Robert Lane

                Robert (Bob) Lee Lane, age 73 of Clarksville, Indiana, and formerly of Roodhouse, died Thursday, January 11, 2018.

 He was born October 29, 1944 in White Hall, the only son of Robert Leon and Frances Alene Daniels Lane.  He married Karen Rawlins on April 20, 1968 at Carrollton, and she survives.  Also surviving are two daughters, Cassie Louise Berry (husband Mark) of Danville, Kentucky, and Natalie Adele Clark (husband Chris) of Jeffersonville, Indiana.  There are four grandchildren, Cheyenne Jean Berry, Cota Lee Berry, and Cruz Allen Berry, all of Danville, Kentucky  and Aaron Thomas Clark of Jeffersonville, Indiana.  He also has a sister, Jane Ann Lane Sorrells.   Preceding him in death was his sister, Connie Lane Dawdy, best friend and cousin, Merle Luttrell, and his beloved aunt and uncle, Charles and Jean Lane Tuey. . 

A  1963 graduate of Roodhouse High School , he first worked at Campbell’s Grocery before beginning a long career with the railroad, working for several before retiring from P&L Railroad in Paducah, Kentucky. Bob was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in Vietnam.  He  always  doted  on his cat, Fuzzy. He was a member of the V.F.W. and American Legion Posts in Jeffersonville, Indiana.  

Graveside family services will be held on Saturday, January 20th at Fernwood Cemetery in Roodhouse with military honors.  Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in Roodhouse is in charge of arrangements.  Condolences may be let on-line at www.airsman-hires.com.
