Obituary of R. Horrer

            R. Coy Horrer, 78, of Arenzville, died Monday, January 22, 2018, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.  He was born March 9, 1939, in Morgan County, the son of John and Ethel Elizabeth Bourn Horrer.  He married Joyce Deaver on February 22, 1959, at Salem Lutheran Church in Jacksonville, and she survives.

            Coy is also survived by one daughter, Bonnie (James) Hunter of Jacksonville, four grandchildren, Jeremy Horrer of Beardstown, James Hunter, Jr. of North Carolina, and Casey Hunter and Nicole Hunter, both of Jacksonville; 12 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, one sister, Shirley Hill of Jacksonville, and one brother-in-law, Jack (Coke) Deaver of Arenzville.  Coy was preceded in death by on sister and brother-in-law, Corolotta and Bill Strubbe, and two brothers, John Horrer (surviving wife, Melba of Tucson, Arizona), and Harlan Horrer (surviving wife, Beverly of Arlington, Washington).

            Coy was employed by Buster Sanitation for many years.  He enjoyed camping, fishing, working on cars, and traveling to Arizona in the winter.  Coy especially loved his family and spending time with them.

            A private service will be held at a later date, with burial at Chapin Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.  The Williamson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.  Condolences may be left online at www.airsman-hires.com.
