Obituary of Julie Bergschneider

            Julie Elizabeth Bergschneider, 54, of Franklin, passed away on Monday, January 29, 2018, in Franklin.  She was born January 24, 1964, at Our Saviour’s Hospital in Jacksonville, the daughter of Leo Edward and Bernice Hermes Bergschneider.
            Julie is survived by her parents of Franklin, brothers and sisters Beverly Watson and Mike (Stephanie) Bergschneider, both of Franklin, Tony (Dana) Bergschneider and Karen Walker, both of Jacksonville, Alice (Mark) Greenwood and Don (LeAnn) Bergschneider, both of Franklin, and Sara (Bruce) Roegge and Jennifer (Jody) Claussen, both of Jacksonville; nineteen nieces and nephews, one great-niece and two great-nephews, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. 
            Julie was a 1982 graduate of Franklin High School.  She earned her associate’s degree from Spoon River Community College, and later earned her bachelor of science degree in Journalism with a minor in graphic communications from Western Illinois University in Macomb.  Julie was a member of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society.  She was employed at three central and west-central Illinois newspapers, where she worked as a graphic artist, a paginator of news pages, a photographer and a production manager.  In addition, she volunteered at the Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center as scheduler and receptionist.
            Julie was an avid reader and enjoyed cross-stitch.  She had a special interest in genealogy and was a member of the McDonough County Genealogical Society and the Cass County Historical Society.
            A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday, February 2, 2018, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Franklin, with burial at Sacred Heart Cemetery.  The family will meet friends from 4 to 6:30 p.m. on Thursday at the Williamson Funeral Home in Jacksonville, where a prayer service will be conducted at 3:45 p.m.  Memorials are suggested to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Prairieland United Way.  Condolences may be left online at www.airsman-hires.com.
