Obituary of Sharon Kennedy
Sharon Kay Kennedy, 70, of Jacksonville, died Sunday, February 11, 2018, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield. She was born May 5, 1947, in Jacksonville, the daughter of John E. and Eileen Angelo Coats.
Sharon is survived by three sons, Tommy Dean (Kristy) Kennedy of Rawlins, Wyoming, Kevin James (Nicole) Kennedy of Springfield, and Michael Alan (Christi) Kennedy of Jacksonville; seven grandchildren, Kaley, Zoie, Gavyn, Jenna, Tabitha, Garrett, and Grant; one great-grandchild, and two sisters, Georgianna (Dick) Kitselman of Murrayville and Mary (deceased, Charles) Miller of Jacksonville. Sharon was preceded in death by three children, Wendy Kay Fields, Wesley David Fields, and Keith Alan Fields, one granddaughter, Gracie, one brother, John Coats, and her longtime companion, Spencer Miller.
Sharon was employed at Pactiv in Jacksonville for many years and had previously worked at Capital Records. She loved traveling, collecting, and antiquing, and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, February 17, 2018, at Williamson Funeral Home, with burial at Glasgow Cemetery. The family will meet friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Shriners Hospitals for Children.
