Obituary of James Johnson
James Thomas “Tom” Johnson, 69 of Winchester and Merritt passed away Monday February 12, 2018 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.
Tom was born July 10, 1948 in Tacoma, Washington the son of the late Tracy and Dolores Thomas Johnson. He was a graduate of Winchester High School and was attending college when he was inducted into the US Army. He served one enlistment as a medic. Tom worked for over 40 years as a carpenter and contractor in the area. He worked for many people, businesses and churches on construction, additions and remodeling. He had been an active member of the Winchester American Legion Post 442, helping with Color Guard, Military Burial Detail and Parade details.
Surviving is his son Evan (Justina) Johnson of Merritt, and his granddaughter Maci Johnson.
Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Thursday February 22, 2018 at the Coonrod Funeral Home in Winchester. Burial with Military Honors will be held in the Winchester City Cemetery.
