Obituary of Tammy Hayes
Tammy Michelle Hayes, 48, of South Jacksonville, passed away on February 23, 2018, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield. She was born July 7, 1969, in Jacksonville, the daughter of Gerald W. and Rebecca R. Rawlings Fuhrman. Tammy married Michael Hayes the love of her life on April 28, 1990, at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Jacksonville, and he survives.
Tammy is also survived by two daughters, Katie (Dustin) Brutlag of Jacksonville and Allison (Kase) LaReau of Kentland, Indiana; two doll babies, Olivia and Owen Brutlag; her mother, Rebecca Fuhrman of Jacksonville, one sister, Tracey (Andy) Hutton of Bluffs and their daughter Andie (Landon) Wells of Danville, one brother, Troy Fuhrman and his son Tyler of Jacksonville; niece Amanda Garde and her daughter Abigail of Jacksonville, her beloved Papillion “JJ”,and numerous other aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Her father, Gerald W. Fuhrman, preceded Tammy in death.
Tammy was a graduate of Jacksonville High School and had been employed as an Administrative Assistant for the Center for Academic Excellence and Trio Student Support Services at Illinois College. She was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, loved by everyone, and feared by no one. Her contagious smile and laughter would brighten any room. Above all else, Tammy wanted to be a “Wife”, “Momma” and a “Mimi.”
A funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. on Monday, February 26, 2018, at Williamson Funeral Home. The family will meet friends from 1 to 4 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to South Jacksonville Fire and Rescue. Condolences may be left online at www.airsman-hires.com.
