Obituary of Shaila Bell
Shaila Rose (Jacobs) Bell met her Lord and Savior on Tuesday morning September 12, 2017 at Passavant Area Hospital in Jacksonville.
She was born March 7, 1937 in Pana the daughter of Morris and Rosina Radcliff Jacobs.
After graduating from Effingham High School she married Harry Bell in 1956 and they lived most of their married life in Winchester. Harry preceded her in death in 1990. Also preceding her were her parents and a granddaughter Rebecca Barber.
Shaila was a light to many; she lived her faith for all to see. She will be remembered as a strong, generous and positive woman who gave God all the glory until her final breath.
She is survived by her five children Kathryn Barber, Ronald (Jeanne) Bell, Douglas (Linda) Bell, Bridget (Jamie) Cowper and Beth Bell, her sister Cheryl Ryan, and grandchildren Lisa Barber, Matt Barber, Mason Barnett, Brian Bell, Laura Henry, Eric Bell, Jordan Cowper, Lanie Cowper and her best friend Henry.
Shaila created some very special bonds in her later years, some of which: Getting in trouble with Zona, chatting with Rosey, keeping friend Robert Dawdy busy fixing things and a magical bond with Mason, Jordan and Lanie.
At Shaila’s request a graveside service will be held at 11 am Friday at the Winchester City Cemetery. Memorials can be made to the donor’s choice. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.airsman-hires.com
