Obituary of Godfrey Rezba
Godfrey Rezba, age 85, of Griggsville, Il. died Saturday evening (December 9, 2017) at the Illinois Veterans Home in Quincy, Il.
He was born January 28, 1932 in Oakdale, Il. son of the late George and Rose Dillerman Rezba.
Surviving are his children, Debbie Stapleton (Chris) of Chula Vista, Ca., Anteaus Rezba (Jackie) of Berwyn, Pa., David Rezba (Cynthia) of Griggsville, Il.; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two brothers, Benny Rezba (Theodora) of Winchester, Va. and Charles David Rezba (Mary Lou) of Griggsville, Il.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Scott Rezba; a granddaughter, Desire Stapelton, and siblings Lil, Chester, Willis, Hazel, Thelma, and Rufis.
Godfrey was a graduate of Highland Park High School in Chicago and was a veteran of the U. S. Army serving during Korea. He worked for many years in Waste Management eventually owing his own company Efficient Disposal in Chicago, Il. He moved to Pike Co. in 1993 and loved to fish and hunt.
A Celebration of Life will be held 11 a.m. Saturday (December 16, 2017) at Airsman-Hires Chapel in Griggsville, Il. Private burial will be held at a later date. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Illinois Veterans Home c/o Airsman-Hires Chapel, PO Box 513,1025 W.
