Obituary of Robert Carmean
Robert L. Carmean Sr. 74 of rural Bluffs passed away late Thursday evening at his home surrounded by his family. He was born March 12, 1943 at the family home near Riggston the son of the late Franklin Glenn and Nora Madeline McEvers Carmean. He married Wilda Fay Hullinger January 12, 1963 in Winchester, they later divorced and she survives. Also surviving is a daughter Angela (husband John) Crow of Bluffs, sons Robert L. Carmean Jr of Bluffs and Glenn Carmean (fiancée Jennifer Davidson of Winchester. Nine grandchildren Jacob Allen of Meredosia, Cassandra Allen of Jacksonville, Khrysten Crow of Waverly, Tyler Crow of Woodson, Blake Carmean of Taylorville, Lakyn Lynn of Bluffs, Khyleigh Carmean of Jacksonville, Claire Carmean of Springfield, Sophia Carmean of Winchester, six great grandchildren Gabriella, Sophia, Noah, Bentley, Kamden and Hunter. Two brothers, Franklin J. Carmean of Las Vegas and George A. (wife Mary Ann) Carmean of Astoria, sisters in law, Ruth Jean Klopfer, Janet Carmean both of Meredosia and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents, three brothers Donald Carmean, William E. Carmean, James O. Carmean, a daughter Loretta A. Carmean, sons Kevin Scott Carmean and Daryl Lee Carmean.
Bob enjoyed collecting antiques, spending time outdoors, planting trees, flowers and vegetables. He loved his farm, raising chicken, duck, peacocks and guineas, riding 4wheelers, and shooting pool with his brothers, family and friends. Nothing made him happier than spending time with his family.
He worked for over 20 years at Carnation in Jacksonville, and was a volunteer fireman with the Bluffs Fire Department.
Funeral services will be held at 11 am Saturday January 20, 2018 at the Coonrod Funeral Home in Winchester. Burial will be in Winchester City Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 9:30 until the time of the service at the funeral home. Memorials can be made to the family. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.airsman-hires.com
