Obituary of Isaac Brown
Isaac L. “Ike” Brown , age 94 of White Hall, died Saturday, January 20, 2018 at Lavender Ridge in Jacksonville. He was born September 13, 1923 in Patterson, the son of Isaac Quillar and Irene Smith Brown. He married Shirley L. Thompson March 9, 1985 at Quincy and she survives.
Also surviving is a son, David Brown of Los Cruces, New Mexico, two daughters, Carolann Long of Casper Wyoming, and Janet Wiederkehr of Wheaton, four grandchildren, Ian Brown, Naguita Grey , Alex and Shelby Wiederkehr, and six great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Basil and Paul Brown.
Ike was raised in Patterson, and later moved to Chicago where he worked building planes. He joined the Army Air Force, serving during World War II. Following his discharge, he moved to Atlanta, Illinois and worked along with his brothers at Brown’s Brothers Welding. He worked as an area manager in fertilizer and propane for what is now BP. He then returned to White Hall in 1983.
