Obituary of Lois Wyatt
Lois Virgene Beams Greening Wyatt, age 88 of Polk City, Iowa, formerly of Jacksonville, passed away Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at The Bridges senior living in Ankeny, Iowa. She was born November 2, 1929 in Louisville, Kentucky, the daughter of Eugene and Jennetta Lewis Beams. She first married Donald E. Greening in Springfield, and later married Charles L. Wyatt in Winchester.
Virgene is survived by a son Dennis (Shauna) Greening of Polk City, Iowa, three grandchildren, Chad Greening, Ryan (Sarah) Greening, and Jodi (James) Swett, great grandchildren, Caden Greening and Jack and Molly Swett. She has a brother, Albert L. (Pauline) Beams of Hillview and niece and nephews, Maxine Asher, Allen Beams, and Michael Beams. There are great niece and nephews, Samantha, Bryon, and Adam Beams.
Virgene was employed at Beecham Laboratories in White Hall for twenty-five years, and at the Greene County Health Department for fifteen years. After retirement, she spent winters in Naples Florida, and was employed at Premier Properties there. She was a Christian, a member of the Hillview Baptist Church, and attended Lincoln Avenue Baptist Church in Jacksonville for many years. She was an accomplished musician and furnished music for church services at Hillview Baptist Church and other churches, and many weddings and funerals. She taught many students to play the piano, organ, and accordion throughout her lifetime.
She was a loving and thoughtful mother, grandmother, and aunt to her family, and will be greatly missed.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at the Hillview Baptist Church with burial in Pine Tree Cemetery at Patterson. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in White Hall. Memorials are suggested to Hillview Baptist Church, or to Mercy Hospice of Johnston, Iowa.
