Obituary of Mary Rohrbaugh
Mary June Webel Rohrbaugh, age 94, of Perry, Illinois passed away at 1:42 p.m. Thursday, February 22, 2018 at Liberty Village in Pittsfield.
She was born August 13, 1923 in Brown County, the daughter of Ross W. and Ruby M. Thiele Webel. She married John Louis Rohrbaugh on September 10, 1943 in Hyattsville, Maryland and he proceeded her in death on March 21, 1998.
Mary attended school in both Brown and Pike County and graduated from Perry High School with the class of 1942. She worked for 10 years in Washington D.C. for the Veterans Administration and 24 years for the Navy Department in Silver Springs, Maryland. Retiring in 1977, she and her husband moved to Florida and then later moved back to Perry. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her sister-in-law Dolores Webel of Chambersburg, nephew Rick Webel of Versailles, niece Vicki (Roger) Rawlings of Hopedale. Great nephews and nieces Joe (Emily) Webel of Farmington, Jonathan (Kerensa) Webel of Versailles, Heather (Doug) Henry and Jessica (Jeremy) Flynn both of Mt. Sterling, Nicholas and Melissa Rawlings of Stephenville, Texas, brother-in-law Roger (Kate) Rohrbaugh of Silver Springs, MD, nieces Mary Kathleen (Keith) Grassick and Ellen (Allan) Martin of Rockville, MD and 18 great nieces and nephews and also a special friend, Ken Roate of Pittsfield.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, 2 infant sisters, 3 brothers Richard and twins Dale and Donald Webel and niece Karma Webel.
Graveside services will be conducted at the Wilson Cemetery in Perry on Sunday, February 25 at 2 p.m. There will be no visitation.
Memorials are suggested to the Perry United Methodist Church or Wilson -McCord Cemetery.
