Obituary of Wilma Fairfield
It is of great sadness that the family of Wilma Fairfield announces her passing on Saturday March 3, 2018, at the age of 89 years. She was born January 13, 1929 in Jacksonville, to Cecil Donald and Lilly Rose (Brummett) Fairfield. Surviving are sisters Rose Wallbaum of LeRoy, Anna Pennell of Jacksonville, Betty Cobb of Ashland, Dorothy Mullens of White Hall, Helen Fairfield of La Quinta, Calif, Pearl Littig of Jacksonville, Esther Cook of Mesa, Az, Edith Elliott of Scottville, Patricia Gibbs of Modesto, Cecelia Werner of Phoenix, Az and Debbie Fairfield of Bloomington.
Surviving brothers are Charles of Jacksonville, Raymond of Palmyra, Larry of Palmyra and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Nancy and Judith, and brothers Donald, Clifford and Dennis.
She was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church. Wilma loved to cook and made many favorite dishes enjoyed by her family and friends. She was well known for her pies.
Per her wishes, there will be no visitation. Following cremation a private graveside service will be held at Memorial Lawn at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Crusaders for Life Cancer Fund-Centenary UMC, or Jacksonville Food Bank. Williamson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
