Obituary of Dorothy Anders
Dorothy Kitson Anders, 79, of Jacksonville passed away early Sunday morning, April 29, 2018 at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield. She was born January 22, 1939 in Hardin the daughter of Charles and Alma Covey Kitson. She married Howard Anders and he survives.
She is also survived by three sons, Steven Edward (Karen) Williams of Jacksonville, Brian Baker (Sherri) Williams of Bismarck, ND and Jeffrey Wayne (Michele) Williams of Racine, WI; one daughter, Kimberly Ann (John) Nealon of Florence, KY; one step-son, Jay Anders of Kingsport, TN; one step-daughter, Virlene (Tony) Anders-Sorrells of Jacksonville; 20 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one brother, Charles “Bud” Kitson of Jacksonville; three sisters, Marie Coonen of Jacksonville, Nancy Brogdon of Chapin and Betty Flenniken of Snellville, GA and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one sister, Helen Downes.
Mrs. Anders had been employed at K Mart and was a devoted wife and mother. She was a member of the First Christian Church in South Jacksonville. She enjoyed antiques, gardening, fishing and spending time with her family.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at Williamson Funeral Home. The family will meet friends from 9:30-11:00 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Family and friends are invited to the Knights of Columbus Hall in Jacksonville immediately following. Memorials are suggested to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
