Obituary of Ruth Richardson

Margaret Ruth Richardson, 89, of Franklin passed away Sunday, May 6, 2018 at Scott County Nursing Center in Winchester. She was born June 3, 1928 in Williamsville the daughter of Robert and Myrtle Ball Beale. She married Merle E. Richardson on January 31, 1948 at Wesley Chapel near Jacksonville and he preceded her in death on February 16, 2017.

                  She is survived by one son, Clyde (Donna) Richardson of Franklin; 4 daughters, Jane (Dale) Taylor of Oakford, Joyce Richardson (Bruce Morrison) of Arvada, CO, Marge (John) Queen of Ponca City, OK and Marilyn (Brian) Bell of Virginia; 10 grandchildren, Michelle (Shawn) McHenry, Monica (Dave) Reed, Anita (Clint) Fox, Gregg (Stephanie) Richardson, Jason (Morgan) Richardson, Edward Morrison (Ellie Fortune), Jenna Leinberger, Julia Morrison, Kembra Bell and Kylor (Samantha) Bell and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one grandson, John Leinberger and one sister, Betty Fisher.

                  Ruth had been employed at Elliott State Bank in Jacksonville for several years. She worked alongside her husband on the family farm and was a devoted wife and mother. She was a member of Durbin United Methodist Church near Franklin. She enjoyed being outside and tending to her flowers.

                  A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 11, 2018 at Williamson Funeral Home with burial at Youngblood Cemetery in Nortonville. The family will meet friends from 10:00-11:00 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Scott County Nursing Center or Durbin United Methodist Church.
