Don is survived by two daughters, Robyn (Gary) Bland and Tracy (Dane) Roach, both of Jacksonville, five grandchildren, Gary Bland, Jr. and Clayton Bland (companion Peggy Hopper), both of Jacksonville, Kortny Bland (fiancé, Sam Carpenter) of Nortonville, and Austin Roach and Nicole Roach (companion, Landon Ridings), both of Jacksonville; three great-grandchildren, Ellie Mae Dixon, Rylinn Bland, and Sophia Sielschott; one brother, George (Marilyn) Murphy of Jacksonville, two sisters, Leona Virzi of Venice, Florida, and Martha (Robert) Travis of Jacksonville, and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by one daughter, Terry Sue Murphy, one brother, Samuel T. Murphy (surviving wife, Shirley of Springfield), one sister, Phyllis Crow, and his companion of several years, Marjorie White.

Don, along with his brother Sam, owned and operated Murphy Brothers Fertilizer for over 50 years.  He was a veteran of the United States Army.  Don loved restoring old cars, bowling, and taking trips to the casinos and Las Vegas.  Don was fortunate to receive the care of two loving daughters during his final days.
