Obituary of Janice Hahn


Janice D. Moffitt Hahn, 72, of White Hall went to her eternal home with the angels early, Thursday, May 24, 2018 at her home. She was born September 5, 1945 in East St. Louis, the daughter of Earl and Gladys Proffitt Moffitt. She married Harman “Sam” Hahn November 1, 1963 in Palmyra and he survives.

Janice is also survived by her mother Gladys Wilson of Hannibal, MO; four sons, Daniel Eugene (Elizabeth) Hahn  of Cameron, Paul Harman Hahn of  Minnesota,  Phillip Roland Hahn of Peoria, and John Michael (Linda) Hahn of East Peoria; five grandsons, Bryan (Leigha) Geoffrey, Mark, Lucas, Bradley; two granddaughters, Faith and Rylee, one great granddaughter, Maisie; eight brothers, Thomas (Rita), Earl Eugene (Laura), Michael (Terry), James, David (Martha), Paul Martin (Barbara), Dennis Joe (Cathy), Gary (Cheryl); and one sister Joyce (Cletus) Lewis. She was preceded in death by her father, an infant brother, and a grandchild, Hayden Hahn.

Janice loved to cross stitch and read Christian books. She loved her church and church family. She taught a Bible class for girls called Good News, at her home for many years. She learned sign language so she could minister to hearing impaired children at church. She was a foster mother to numerous kids over the years.  She loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren. She was a member of Berdan Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in White Hall with burial to follow in White Hall Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Berdan Baptist Church. Condolences may be left online at www.airsman-hires.com
