Obituary of Robert McClure

Robert "Bob" S. McClure, 82, of Roodhouse passed away Saturday, June 2, 2018 at White Hall Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was born on October 13, 1935 in White Hall, the son of Stanley Van and Nina Elizabeth Livingstone McClure. He married  Kum Cha Kim on July 26, 1974 in Seoul, S. Korea, and she preceded him in death July 14, 2009.

Bob is survived by an adopted daughter, Mi Yon Tan (husband, Kow) Ping of Edwardsville; a grandson, Timothy Tan of Edwardsville; a sister, Karen E. McClure of Virginia; two brothers, twin, George R. "Mac" McClure, and James F. McClure both of White Hall. He was preceded in death by an infant child, Robyn Lynn McClure; and a brother, Louis Van McClure.

Bob was a White Hall High School graduate class of 1953. He was a member of the White Hall First Baptist Church and attended the Korean United Presbyterian Church with his wife. He served in the U.S Marine Corps for 3 years, and the U.S. Airforce for 17 years until retirement on January 1, 1976, with the rank of Master Sargent. He worked at Bunn-O-Matic Corp in Springfield retiring, January 1, 1997. He was a lifetime member of the Jacksonville VFW Post 1379, the National Association of Uniformed Services, the Fraternal Order of the Eagles of Alton, and the White Hall Sportsmans Club. 

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at Airsman Hires Funeral Home in White Hall with burial in the White Hall Cemetery. The family will meet friends on Tuesday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to BJC Hospice. Condolences may be left at www.airsman-hires.com.
