Obituary of Wanda Cox

Wanda Fayne Cox, 85, of Glasgow passed away on June 4, 2018 in Jacksonville.  She was born on March 4, 1933 in Macoupin County the daughter of the late Gilbert and Julia Arnold Shearburn.  She married Earl Edward Cox on February 11, 1951 at Sandridge Baptist Church in rural Winchester.  Wanda was well known for her love of family, art, baseball, and cooking.  Following a career at Our Redeemer Day Care caring for infants, in her later years Wanda was a sought-after party guest due to her amazing sense of humor.

Wanda was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Earl, daughter Wanda Diane Tennill, son Brett Edward Cox, daughter in law Karen Cox and her 2 brothers and 3 sisters. She is survived by a son, Earl Craig Cox of rural Winchester; five grandchildren:  Michael Craig (Kara) Cox, Michelle Emile (Eric) Romine, Matthew Edward Tennill, Andrea Camille Cox, and Destiny Rae Cox; and four great-grandchildren:  Avenelle Tennill, Bryce Tennill, Elijah Cox, and Erin Cox.

Funeral services will be held at 11 am Saturday June 9, 2018 at Coonrod Funeral Home in Winchester. Burial will be in the Winchester City Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 9 am until the time of the funeral. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorials be donated to the Winchester EMS, American Heart Association or to Diabetes Association.
