Obituary of Wayne Crow

Wayne Keith Crow, 71, of Franklin, died Wednesday, July 4, 2018, at his home.  He was born December 11, 1946, in Jacksonville, the son of Charles Kenneth and Jessie Pauline Dodge Crow.  Keith married Patty Gordon on October 21, 1971, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Franklin, and she survives.

            Keith is also survived by three sons, Charlie (Denise) Crow of Franklin, Michael (Jeannine) Crow of Springfield, and Jacob (Victoria) Crow of Heyworth; six grandchildren, Abby Crow, Matthew Crow, Tristan Crow, Silas Crow, Bianca Crow, and Layla Crow; four step-grandchildren, Luke Walden, Ashlee Walden, Shelby Merz, and Delaney Merz; four siblings, Sherry Crow of Ft. Myers, Florida, Denny (Kay) Crow of Oakwood, Danny (Judy) Crow of Franklin, and Kay (deceased, Frank) Foster of Alexander, and several nieces and nephews.  Keith was preceded in death by one son, Matthew.

            Keith attended Franklin schools and graduated from Western Illinois University.  He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, from 1969-1971.  Following his discharge from the Army, Keith worked at a bank in Pekin briefly before returning to the Pisgah area where he farmed for 46 years and also worked construction.  Keith was a member of the Franklin Lions Club, Morgan County Fair Board, Franklin School Board, and Rees Elevator Board. 

            A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 7, 2018, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Franklin.  Private burial will be at a later date.  A prayer service will be conducted at 3:45 p.m. on Friday at the Williamson Funeral Home, after which the family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m.  Memorials are suggested to the Ronald McDonald House or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.  The Williamson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.  Condolences may be left online at www.airsman-hires.com.
