Obituary of Patrick McKinnon

 

            Patrick E. McKinnon, 60, of Murrayville passed away Sunday, July 8, 2018 at Passavant Area Hospital. He was born December 7, 1957 near Greenfield the son of Paul and Eula Cox McKinnon.

            He is survived by one son, Patrick McKinnon of Springfield; 5 daughters, Rachelle Downs of Bluffs, Celeste (Jeff) Pankey of Springfield, Ashley Henson of South Jacksonville, Brittany Woods of Jacksonville and Erica McKinnon of Murrayville; 8 grandchildren, Tucker and Rebekah Hillman, Bailey Savage, Brodi Nance, Taylor Nance, Landyn Woods, Hudson Wheeler and Bransyn Wheeler; one great-grandchild, BayLynn Hillman; two brothers, Ed (Dianna) McKinnon of Franklin and Preston (Sue) McKinnon of Murrayville; 3 sisters,  Sandra (George) Grimsley, Cynthia (Timothy) Vasilko and Rebecca (Keith) Bourne all of Jacksonville  and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Morgan McKinnon; one granddaughter, Kaydence Woods and his parents.

            Pat had been employed as a mechanic and a general contractor. He had also served as a Police Officer in Virginia, IL. He was a member of the House of Prayer in Murrayville and was a devoted father, grandfather, Brother and Uncle and was “Best Buddies” to all he met. He will be remembered for being hard working, always helping others and his sense of humor. He enjoyed his pets and was an accomplished poet.     

            A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 12, 2018 at Williamson Funeral Home with burial at Murrayville Cemetery. The family will meet friends from 5:00-7:00 on Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the family, to help with expenses . Condolences may be left online at www. airsman-hires.com.
