Obituary of Patricia Klingele

 

 

                Patricia Ann Klingele, age 80 of Roodhouse passed away peacefully surrounded by her family and dedicated caregivers Sunday, July 22, 2018 at her residence.  She was born March 17, 1938 in St. Louis, MO, the daughter of Stanley and Anna Hopper White. 

                She is survived by her son, Mark Klingele residing in Austin, TX, and her daughter Lisa Strain (fiancĂ© Frank Bommarito), residing in Chesterfield, MO., and her four grandchildren, Ryan and Brandon Klingele,  Mark (Barbi) Strain, and Allison (Jeremy) Gwartney .  Her great grandchildren are Keatyn, Olivia, and Beau Gwartney, and Roman Strain.  The youngest of eight children, Patricia was preceded in death by five sisters, and two brothers.

                Pat attended grade school in St. Louis, and White Hall, and graduated from White Hall High School in 1957 (where she had been the head majorette for the high school band).  She worked in the dietary department at White Hall Hospital for a number of years, and then was a private caretaker for many elderly people until her retirement. 

                Pat loved to travel, and also loved photography, it was evident in the many treasured moments she was able to capture of her travels and her family.  Other hobbies include sewing, quilting, and cooking.  She loved her grandchildren deeply, and worked to instill in them responsibility and etiquette, passing on to them family traditions such as her wonderful soup and squash pie made with hubbard and butternut squash), chicken and noodles.

                Pat was a faithful member of Souls Harbor Apostolic Church in Roodhouse.  She dedicated her life to the Lord and shared her faith with family and friends.  She was kind and compassionate, and had an austere benevolence.  She lived her life according to the word of God, her favorite scriptures being from the King James version,  Proverbs 3: 5-6, and Acts 2: 38.

                Funeral services will be held at 12 noon Thursday, July 26, 2018 at Souls Harbor Apostolic Church in Roodhouse where visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until service time Thursday. Burial will be at Fernwood Cemetery in Roodhouse.  Memorials are suggested to the Roodhouse Park District.  Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in Roodhouse is assisting the family.  Condolences may be left on-line at www.airsman-hires.com.
