Obituary of Homer Bridgeforth

   Homer William Bridgeforth, 84, of Pontiac, formerly of Carrollton, died at Accolade Nursing in Pontiac on August 22, 2018.

    Born in Oxly, MO on August 13, 1934 he was the son of the late Henry Green and Della Rea (Page) Bridgeforth.  He first married to Barbara (Kallal) Wintjen, later he married Ivalee (Johnson) who preceded him In death on June 17, 2009. Lastly he married Alice Donaldson on April 27, 2013 and she survives in Pontiac.

     He also is survived by his family: children: Robin Giberson of Kane, Debra (Terry Miller) Crain of Jerseyville, Larry (Robin) Bridgeforth of San Diego, CA,  Delores (Robert) Jordan of Champaign, Wanda (Ron) Moore of Kansas,  Tina (Bill) Thomas of Hoopeston,  a special friend Kim (Louie) of AZ,  step-sons:  James (Gigi) Bridgeforth of FL, Bill Jones of CO, Daniel (Jamie) Jones, step-daughter:  Donna (Raymond) Howard of IL, several grandchildren and many great-grandchildren,  his siblings: Maudie Bates of TX, Richard Bridgforth of CA, Arthur “Jack” Bridgeforth of NM, half-brothers and sisters:  Charles Bridgeforth of MO, Kathy Green of IL, Mary Dupske of MO, Shirley Pruitt of IL, Caroline Arndt of IL, Bill Bridgeforth of MO, John Bridgeforth of IL, Sam Scoggins of GA, Mary Larson of TX,  Dave Scoggins of IL, Juanita Upleger of IL, Marion Pat Scoggins of IL, Bill Scoggins of IL and Linda England of TN.

     He was preceded in death by his parents, two former wives and a half-brother Jerry Bridgeforth.

    Homer was a U.S. Navy veteran.  He worked as a truck driver, in a factory, as a maintenance man, a Kirby Vacuum salesman and car salesman.   He loved to fish, whistle and dearly loved Bandit (his dog).   He was a member of Believers Baptist Church near Carrollton.

     Funeral services will be held 2 P.M. Saturday August 25, 2018 at Believers Baptist Church on Woody Road near Carrollton.   As per his wishes, he will be cremated following services.  A private burial will be conducted at a later date.  Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in Carrollton is in charge of arrangements.
