Obituary of Wyoma Henson

    Wyoma Arlene Henson, 82, of Carrollton died on Wednesday Sept. 19, 2018 at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.

     Born in Greenfield on Oct. 19, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Helen Shepard Clark.  She married William R. (Bill) Henson on June 25, 1953 and he preceded her in death on November 2, 1992.

    Surviving are two daughters and a son-in-law:  Debbie and Dave Grueter of Carrollton and Nancy Edwards of Roodhouse, six grandchildren: Angie (Rich) McAdams, Dr. Chad (Teresa) Grueter, Dr. Brad (Carrie) Grueter, Nathan Edwards, Sarah Edwards and Tom Edwards, eleven great-grandchldren: Chase, Cade, Callie & Chloe McAdams, Madelyn, Emelia and Tyler Grueter, Ella and Braden Grueter, Dyhlan and Connor Edwards and two sisters: her twin-Wanda Rice of Jerseyville, Jean Bruce of Godfrey, a sister-in-law: Jacque Hansen and brother-in-law: Dennis F. Henson and numerous nieces and nephews.

    Mrs. Henson and her husband were owner/operators of Western Auto in White Hall.  She worked at the dress factory and Beecham Laboratories in White Hall.  She was a member of St. John's Catholic Church.  She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles and playing Yahtzee and Rummy.  She was a wonderful and loving Gigi, who shared her wit and wisdom with everyone who loved her, whether you wanted her to or not.  She will be greatly missed and will always be in our hearts and minds.

   She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and five sisters: Frances Mefford, Evelynn Mann, Joyce Beach, Barbara “Bo” Shaw, and Anna “Sissy” Hammon.

     Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. on Saturday Sept. 22, 2018 at the Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in Carrollton.  Following visitation, services will be held at the funeral home with burial to follow in Borlin Cemetery southwest of Carrollton.   Memorials may be made to Borlin Cemetery.  Condolences may be left online at: www.airsman-hires.com
