Obituary of Norma Lowe

Norma Jean Lowe, 86, of South Jacksonville, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her family, on Saturday, October 6, 2018.  She was born September 29, 1932, in Jacksonville, the daughter of Oren E. and Viola Mae Woods Reveal.  She married Kenneth “Von” Lowe on January 7, 1951, in Jacksonville, and he preceded her in death on March 24, 2001.

Norma is survived by five children, Sheila (Michael) Meyers, Celeste (Randy) Lindsey, and Eddie Lowe, all of South Jacksonville, Greg (Linda) Lowe of Franklin, and Brian Lowe of Jacksonville; 13 grandchildren, and numerous great- and great-great-grandchildren.  In addition, Norma is survived by her siblings, Betty Farmer (deceased husband, John), Shirley (Keith) Rector, Jim (Judy) Reveal, Brenda (Brad) Fundel, Vickie (Sonny) Turner, Wendy Reveal, Steve (Karen) Reveal, and Carol (Bob) Gilmore, her beloved sister-in-law Rosemary Reveal, and numerous nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Gerald “Buzzy” Reveal, one sister, Delores Krueger, and two infant siblings.

Norma was executive administrator for the Railroad Maintenance and Industrial Health and Welfare Fund prior to retirement.  She was previously employed at Hertzberg-New Method Book Bindery and the Central Laborer’s Pension and Welfare Fund office.

Norma enjoyed bowling, trips to the casino, and golfing, especially in the Kenny “Von” Lowe Memorial Golf Outings.  She cherished her family and the time she spent with them, including Tuesday family lunches, Friday family dinners at “G.G.’s,” and annual trips to Lake of the Ozarks with her sisters.

A memorial service will be held at 12 Noon on Tuesday, October 9, 2018, at Williamson Funeral Home, with burial to follow at Diamond Grove Cemetery.  The family will meet friends from 10 a.m. until the time of service Tuesday at the funeral home.  Memorials are suggested to Camp Courage.  Condolences may be left online at www.airsman-hires.com.
